Coffee production was first reported at Flamstead, St. Andrew, in 1764 and quickly became the toast of the British Empire. Various British Governors have owned sections of the Flamstead property and reveled in the high quality of the coffee produced at Flamstead. Flamstead`s natural conditions of even rainfall, excellent microclimate for coffee, and mist drenched slopes form the base for an excellent cup of coffee. The farm stands at 3,300 feet above sea level and oftentimes is covered by the cool mists of the Blue Mountains, lying in an area traditionally associated with the production of high quality Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee. This is the quintessential classic coffee, rich flavour, aroma, full body with mild acidity. Of all coffees this must closely match the description given by Sheikh Adb-al-Kadi in 1587..Coffee is the common man’s gold, and like gold it brings to everyman the feeling of luxury and nobility.Blue Mountain is considered the ‘Rolls Royce’ of all coffees. Its rarity, due to the limitations of the growing area is reflected in the price.
