Ethiopian Yirgacheffe has a distinct fruit like acidity, pungent, traditional winey, Mocha taste, with lots of body. A smooth all day coffee.Probably the best of the washed Ethiopian coffees, Yirgacheffe is grown in the Sidamo area of Ethiopia. With the washing process giving a bright, clean cup, it has a distinct fruit-like acidity that adds a pungency to the traditional Mocha taste. A very pleasant, full-bodied and smooth all day coffee.A washed Yirgacheffe from the ‘home of coffee growing’ or so it is argued. This coffee grows in tropical garden in jungle conditions with shade giving trees. We have chosen this coffee from the Oromia (famous from the film ‘Black Gold’) district, for its fine floral taste and wonderful aroma. The benefits of Fairtrade to the farmers have been considerable. They have 4 schools and 4 health centres in the coops. They have their own bank, they have 3 sites for eco tourism with state of the art washing and pulping stations.

    Yiregachefe is not found in Oromia region, it is found in the SNNPR(Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples region) of Ethiopia.
